The high tea hotspot in London

On your next trip to London make sure to enjoy a cup of tea in traditional British hospitality
High tea is no longer just something enjoyed by the elderly, but now the English tea in Londonlatest trend amongst young travelers.

Traditional afternoon tea consists of a selection of dainty sandwiches (including thinly sliced cucumber sandwiches), scones served with cream and preserves. Cakes and pastries are also served. Tea grown in India or Ceylon is poured from silver tea pots into delicate bone china cups.

Originally, British tea was served at four or five p.m. and ended around seven p.m. However today it is served from three until five in the afternoon. Courtesy of the British Empire, the tradition of High Tea spread across the world. Two hot spots to visit for your English High tea experience:
  • For a romantic option, The Ritz has been serving tea in the flowery, domed Palm Court for 100 years.
  • For a more relaxed atmosphere and a excellent range of traditional teas, The Carlton Towers would be also a good option.

Barcelona Jazz Festival

My of my favourite music festivals in Europe each summer is the jazz festival in Barcelona. From the 19th of October until the 29th of November the 40th edition of the Voll-Damm Festival International de Jazz de Barcelona will be held this year, in several venues.

The Barcelona international jazz festival is one of the largest and most appreciated events in Europe. The festival takes place during the autumn Barcelona and jazz musicseason and that what makes it pleasant as well because the real summer heat has gone and there are less tourists.

During the festival there are several music styles where you can listen to, from large bands and bebop to gospel and Latin jazz. All the songs are played by a great number of international artists.

The festival will be held in Palau de la Música and Barcelona accommodation for the jazz festival is still available. For flights a good site which compares several companies is http://www.expedia.co.uk/
