Sushi & Japanese restaurants in the center of Barcelona

It's an unusual occurrence in European cities to find a concentration of ethnic restaurants on the same street but the exception makes the rule with: Barcelona's Calle Ciutat and its Japanese restaurants. Calle Ciutat (Carrer Ciudad in Catalan and on google maps) is a street that runs off the Plaza San Jaume in the very center of the Barrio Gotico.

From Plaza San Jaume start your descent into sushi heaven with the trendy Kynoto Sushi Lounge (C/Ciudad, 5. tel: 933042376). 200 meters Japanese Restaurantsfurther down the street and you stumble upon 1.Matsuri Sushi Bar (Pl. Regomir 1. tel: 932681535) with a small menu of all the favourites and 2. the family run Shinjuku serving a delicious Toro tuna belly (C/Ciudad, 13. tel: 932690941).

If you are after a light sushi lunch in Barcelona make a quick left for the small but excellent Sushiya (C/Cometa 3. tel: 932690671). Within 5 minutes walk, North of Plaza San Jaume, find the renowned Shunka (C/ Sagristans 5. tel: 934124991), just next to the Cathedral.
Happy sushi!
